Transparency

Transparency is very important to us. That is why we are a signatory to the list of the “Initiative Transparente Zivilgesellschaft” (in English: Transparent Civil Society Initiative)*. We are committed to making the following information available to the public online as well and keeping it up to date.

According to the last notice of exemption we received from the Marburg Biedenkopf tax office (tax number 31/250/56899) dated June 8, 2022 (assessment period 2017 to 2019), our work is exempt from corporate income tax pursuant to Section § 5 (1) No. 9 of the Corporate Income Tax Act (Körperschaftsteuergesetzes von der Körperschaftssteuer) and from trade tax pursuant to Section § 3 No. 6 of the Trade Tax Act (Gewerbesteuergesetzes).

Zinduka e.V. was registered in 2016 as a non-profit association in Marburg an der Lahn, Germany. The non-profit status exists according to §§51 Ff. AO. The non-profit association has the number 5323 in the register of associations in Marburg and the tax number is: 3125056899.

Our goals and constitution

Here is our constitution.

Our goal: 
Zinduka e.V. is taking a stand and fighting against the female genital mutilation (“FGM”) in Kenya. All our programs contribute to the elimination of FGM. We are following the agenda of the UN (United Nations) and are therefore also determined to end FGM until the year 2030.

We are sustainably striving to improve the living environment of all people with a focus on girls and women through several educational measures. 

We are following a holistic approach, some of our subjects and training areas are:

  • Non-judgemental and non-coercive FGM education and enlightenment 
  • Training on the legal situation of FGM and children rights in Kenya
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Trainings in partnership with THE RAIN WORKERS 
  • Positive Parenting trainings for parents and men
  • Importance of education
  • Career paths and opportunities
  • and many more…

Here you can download the annual report 2022 (page 13). Our donations come mainly from private organizations and individuals. 

 In 2022, there was no donation from an individual that accounted for more than 10% of the total annual budget.

We control very closely on-site how funds are used. We know the prices and pay attention to every euro.
